A perfume house with its roots in early 20th century aristocratic France

Isabey Paris was created in 1924 by Baron Henry James de Rothschild, a famous playwright who wrote under a pseudonym, while the name ‘Isabey’ was inspired by the French miniature painter Jean Baptiste Isabey. The Maison soon acquired an international reputation for the refinement and quality of its olfactory creations, so much so that already in April 1925 the jury of the Exhibition of Decorative Arts awarded it the gold medal for the creation ‘Le Collier d’Isabey’. Due to historical events Isabey had to close its doors in 1941, but in 1999 the perfume house Panouge brought these mythical fragrances back to life, re-editing them but preserving their emblematic codes.
